
Welcome to Queens New York City the home of two of the three major airports providing service to the city. The International Airport of J.F.K. and the more domestic airport of LaGuardia. Queens has the busiest most controlled airspace in the world.
Queens also boasts the largest geographical area of New York City, and may soon overtake Brooklyn for the highest population with the growth the borough has been experiencing. This borough is considered to be one of the more suburban of the five boroughs. Immigrants make up 47.6% of the population in Queens and over 138 languages are spoken in the borough. Residents identify more with their neighborhood rather then with the city or borough as a whole. There are dozens of unique neighborhoods with their individual distinct identity, in culture as well as ethnic make ups.
The borough's economy focuses on tourism, trade and industry. On average the black population in Queens earns more then the white population. The borough has recently experienced a growth in real estate making it a very desirable area to live for people searching for a less urban setting but who want to be close to Manhattan.
